These sites support the vision and growth of content-rich organizations including Fortune 500 companies, media and publishing entities, and government institutions.

The Treehouse Agency brand has achieved a position of high regard and strong recognition in our field. We are now seeking a Communications Manager to help us create the content and assets we need to strengthen this brand further and grow our reach.

The Communications Manager will work across our team, at times collaborating directly with developers, clients, and executive-level managers. Candidates should be flexible, passionate, and able to manage colleagues in all directions--up, down, and sideways.

As we are a virtual company, geographic location is not a consideration, but candidates should be prepared to work on a somewhat flexible Eastern Time schedule.

Responsibilities

Write, edit, and/or produce:

• Case studies
• Blog content (ghostwritten and self-published)
• Site content Brochure copy
• Presentations (sometimes technical)
• Press releases
• Client documentation
• Proposals
• Social media messaging

Other responsibilities may include:

• Developing and implementing a content strategy
• Facilitating content production by the development team
• Working with designers to produce cohesive site and collateral designs consistent with company identity
• Collaborating with clients and industry peers
• Participating in Drupal community events and projects on behalf of the company
• Representing company at conferences and trade shows
• Light multimedia production
• Monitoring content performance
• Buzz monitoring
• Exploring and experimenting with new software and tools

Required skills and attributes

• Excellent writing and speaking abilities
• Comfort with technical subject matter
• Able to work well with both managerial and technical team members
• High initiative and enthusiasm
• Good intuition with regard to brand personality and tone
• Sense of humor
• Basic HTML or willingness to learn
• Strong familiarity with MS Word and PowerPoint or Keynote
• Comfortable working in a small company
• Comfortable working virtually
• Portfolio of business writing samples

Preferred (optional) skills and attributes

• General familiarity with Photoshop
• General knowledge of SEO
• Familiarity with Drupal and/or website development
• Strong knowledge of presentation structure and best practices
• Ability to coach technical staff to develop writing and presentation skills
• Understanding of common social media platforms and effective use
• Familiarity with Google Analytics
• Business-to-business marketing background
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
